Agricultural harvesting company in Santa Maria is looking for a payroll specialist.
The payroll specialist will process, analyze, edit and prepare weekly payroll for approximately 400 H-2A field employees. You will interact with field personnel to resolve discrepancies and ensure the accuracy of payroll. As needed, you will process manual and final checks for employees and assist in layoff procedures.
Job Duties:
Process, analyze, edit, import daily payroll data
Review and reconcile daily/weekly payroll data, including deductions and reimbursements, for accuracy
Ensure payroll data meets state and federal requirements
Contact supervisors/forepersons as necessary to clarify/correct daily payroll data
Prepare weekly payroll reports, review for accuracy
As necessary, prepare final paychecks and required documents for field employees including layoff checks
Maintain confidential payroll records
Assist in payroll record setup and maintenance as needed
Assist with special projects as needed
Requirements
Agricultural payroll experience
Experience using Excel
Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll laws (hours, overtime, minimum wage, rest and meal periods, etc)
Bilingual English/Spanish (required)
Experience with ADS (preferred)
Experience with Datatech The Farmers Office (preferred)
