The Sun in Santa Maria is looking for its next Eats writer, but we're not looking for just any article-pushing, press release-reading, food-eating, wine-drinking someone.
We're looking for that certain someone who can see the nuances that make a chef, farmer, or winemaker speciala writer who can tease the most out of an interview, a bite of food, or a sip of liquid. Someone who not only knows food, but cares about the people making it and where it came from.
Eats is about more than food and drink. It's about understanding the work that goes into producing and participating in the chain that leads to your table and into your mouthand being able to put that on paper in a way that's meaningful to our readers.
This is freelance position with weekly deadlines. Think you have what it takes? Prove it. Journalism experience is a requirement.
