Data Reliability Engineer - Contract to Hire - (Seattle, NYC or LA)Genuent is Hiring! A Data Reliability Engineer, Contract to Hire opportunity with a leader in Entertainment. This position will be based in in Seattle, NYC or LA. If you're a match, please apply or know anyone that may be interested, please contact The Data Reliability Engineering team is responsible for maintaining and improving the reliability of big data platform, which processes hundreds of terabytes of data and billions of events daily. We are looking for a Data Reliability Engineer to help us in the ongoing mission of delivering an outstanding service to our users and make more data-driven. Additionally, you will work closely with our partner teams on our incident management process including post-mortem, root cause analysis and preventing incident recurrenceQualifications:
- Detailed problem-solving approach, coupled with a strong sense of ownership and drive
- A passionate bias to action and passion for delivering high-quality data solutions
- 2+ years experience with operating and supporting data pipelines & production data services.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with production operations and management of large production software environments
- Daily basis - will work on production/infrastructure/software alerts/incidents- for all items.
- Must have basic linux skills, experience with production support- alerting dash boards and running books.
- Familiarity with Big Data technology- hadoop, hive, presto, snowflake, data pipelines with enough knowledge to talk through and figure out issues.
- CI/CD - must know more or less from an operational working knowledge.
- Scripting Skills - Big Data is in Java, Bash- for Linux, Python- tools built out in on team. Light scripting is all needed.
