  • Within the company’s established procedures and practices, the Systems Administrator will maintain operational capabilities of department's Windows based computer systems to ensure effective and efficient computer usage specific to the department's needs for Server management (Windows Server lifecycle configuration and management) level and Endpoint management (imaging, patching, etc.).
  • The successful candidate will provide subject matter expertise in all aspects of Server and endpoint management and configuration including application and network inter-operability, performance testing, and vulnerability remediation.
  • The System Administrator must be capable of working independently, while at the same time demonstrating a collaborative and collegial work style. The System Administrator will frequently serve on cross-cutting project teams deploying new technologies and capabilities to the enterprise.

Responsibilities / Duties:
  • Develop hardware and software baselines for servers, endpoints, and mobile devices; configure systems for advanced functionality and capability; incorporate Department of Defense Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) guidance into configurations. Thoroughly test configurations and impact to functionality and coordinate with the Information Security team for risk assessments and waivers.
  • Plan, install, operate, and maintain endpoint configuration using tools such as IBM Big Fix, AWS management console, VEEAM.
  • Develop and deploy configurations via automated centralized enterprise configuration management tools.
  • Conduct monthly patching and vulnerability remediation. Coordinate with Information Security on the priority of remediation and aggressively work to resolve vulnerabilities that impacts the organizations cyber security posture.
  • Document settings and configurations of endpoints, configuration management tools, and mobile devices; coordinate for changes in accordance with Information Service’s Information Technology Service Management process.
  • Provide assistance for technical staff, including the diagnosing and troubleshooting of networking, hardware, and software problems.
  • Act as an escalation resource for problem resolution, solving the difficult and complicated technical problems in the field of expertise.

Qualifications
  • Advanced skills in automation, scripting, security best practices, and the ability to configure and maintain enterprise configuration management tools such as IBM Big Fix, AWS management console, VEEAM are required.
  • DoD clearance preferred
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DHS (Department of Homeland Security) Fitness/Suitability Authorization

Education Requirements
  • BA/BS degree is preferred
  • Consideration will be given for all pertinent certifications
