The National Merchandising Manager is responsible for leading and executing national strategy and consistency for Red Bull Distribution Company's (RBDC) merchandising program. This person will develop a sales merchandising force and is responsible for further developing, implementing and executing the strategic plans while coordinating the region's sales merchandising effort in order to ensure retail customer's needs. This position will be responsible for developing and implementing merchandising best practices, Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and will be accountable for creating process to ensure Red Bull initiatives are executed. In addition, this role will look ahead to the role sales merchandising will play in our route to market.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • STRATEGIC MERCHANDISING PLANNING

    Analyze and recommend merchandising structure and headcount planning to create an ongoing model that will support proper headcount planning.

    Conduct Time and Motion studies to establish proper merchandising techniques and timing. Utilize these processes to determine proper store level service timing and frequencies.

    Create and define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Merchandising Managers and District Sales Managers that manage merchandisers to drive executional excellence.

    Analyze and develop merchandising plans that increase execution and implementation with the field management teams.

    Manages cross-functional relationships with other key departments to ensure that overall merchandising initiatives/programs are communicated, implemented, and results are shared in a timely manner.

    EXECUTIONAL EXCELLENCE

    Report regularly on Monthly Performance Review (MPR) and Quarterly Business Review (QBR) needs, and other ad hoc reporting to the Director, Sales & Distribution.

    Responsible for executing innovative merchandising programs and continually defining high quality merchandising standards and "best practices."

    Manage Merchandising communication and coordination between all levels of the organization.

    Ensure the company's high standards are met for shelf presentation, on shelf availability, and product freshness.

    Responsible for enabling the profit centers that do not have a Merchandising Manager within new and existing profit centers and define ways of working with these organizational restructures.

    Responsible to drive, train, and report monthly merchandising budget spend (hours and mileage).

    BUILDING & DEVELOPMENT OF MERCHANDISING SUCCESS

    Define and develop new ways of working and best practices.

    Lead, develop, implement and sustain specific learning programs for the Merchandising Teams to support the internal readiness and fuel internal pipelines.

    Work collaboratively across the organization, sharing and implementing best practices; act as a major contributor/leader among peer group.

    Implement tools and resources that will drive merchandising efficiencies to allow more time to build selling capabilities.

    Implement scheduling model that will be dynamic based on business seasonal and promotional needs.

    Evaluation of the overall merchandising culture and engagement within the profit centers and collaborate with leaders to action plan, solve and address trends.

    Work with outside partners to research and implement new capabilities.

EXPERIENCE

  • MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong planning, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly competent in implementing and executing strategic plans.
  • Advanced proficiency in sales merchandising, business development and retail operations.
  • Strong proficiency with utilizing analytical methods to prove merchandising hypothesis and measure program effectiveness.
  • Strong leadership and managerial skill sets required.
  • Minimum 8-10+ years CPG field sales merchandising experience with proven results
  • 5+ years managerial and/or business development experience, preferred
  • Proven effectiveness as creative problem solver
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including being able to prepare
  • presentation materials and present the information one-on-one and in a group
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel
  • Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills
  • PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years managerial and/or business development experience, preferred
  • TRAVEL / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Travel 50%

  • Regularly lift, move and place up to 25 pounds of inventory and/or advertising
