We are looking for a Cancer Data Coordinator with Radiology Diagnostic at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.Location: Santa Rosa, CaliforniaSchedule: Full-time - 80 biweekly hoursShift: DayJob Summary:Under the direction of the Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital Business Operations Manager, the Cancer Data Specialist Collaborates with the tumor registry staff to ensure all State of California, American College of Surgeons (ACoS) and Cancer Committee quality standards and guidelines are met on a consistent basis. The Cancer Registry Data Specialist has responsibility in the following areas: information management; information retention and retrieval; case findings; daily collaborations with registry contractors and/or staff; registry statistics; legal and ethical perspectives; quality assurance; provides coordination for cancer committee, tumor boards, grand rounds, accreditations, and nosology for Santa Rosa Memorial HospitalSkills:

Knowledge of automated data processing techniques/computers.

Maintains professional affiliations and enhanced professional growth by keeping current in knowledge of health trends and research in all cancer care and disease management.

Excellent communication/interpersonal skills.

Ability to problem-solve, analyze situations, give feedback and serve as a resource to Cancer Registry employees.

Knowledge of International Classification of Diseases (ICD-9) and ICD for Oncology (ICD-O-3), SEER, AJCC TNM, Collaborative Staging and Multiple Primary and Histology Coding Rules and the updates as presented for abstracting, coding and appropriate follow-up.

Demonstrates a thorough knowledge and understanding of ACoS and CCR requirements.

Demonstrates the ability to exercise independent problem solving.

Ability to work effectively under pressure due to changing priority interruptions.

Knowledgeable in the use of computers with a focus on database management Ability to act professionally and in cooperation with others.

Minimum Position Qualifications:Education:

High School graduate or certified equivalency is required. Some college preparation desirable.

Experience:

Experience working in a hospital or physician office is desirable. Information management skills and computer knowledge is essential.

Training:

Willingness to learn medical terminology and become familiar with in cancer nomenclature and disease classification systems.

Preferred Position Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science or Nursing
