Hi All,I am currently seeking an Inventory Clerk for a company in Santa Rosa, CA. This will be a contract-to-hire position and will start off as part-time until the Shelter in Place is lifted and then will be full-time.Their culture is extremely important to them. Job Duties:-Perform a variety of shipping and receiving tasks including checking orders, maintaining receiving records and preparing receiving reports.-Performs cycle counts and organizes regularly scheduled physical inventories.Day in the Life:
1/3 of their day will be dedicated to shipping: The Inventory Clerk will take all UPS orders and enter them into the system and create shipping labels.
1/3 of their day will be making Home Depot appointments to schedule deliveries for their truck drivers. Home Depot orders specialty wood products and they place these orders per unit vs. bulk orders. They make about 20-30 appointments per day and can be on hold for up to 20 minutes to get the delivery scheduled.
1/3 of their day will be managing their inventory and making tags. Their wood is packaged in bulk and when Home Depot or another customer places an order they pull from the bulk packaging. That is considered "breaking inventory". When inventory is broken, they have to create new tags for the product to track it in the warehouse. This is the hardest part of the job and they will provide thorough training.
