Position Overview:A Laboratory Assistant III at Sutter Medical Center of Santa Rosa is a senior position in the Clinical Laboratory. The general duties that are completed by individuals in this job class include: 1) phlebotomy procedures on all ages of patients, 2) processing of specimens, 3) registry of patients/specimens, 4) ability to perform in Sutter Medical Center of Santa Rosa’s Outpatient Drawing Station, 5) utilization of the hospital and laboratory information systems, 6) performance of duties in the Microbiology department, 7) performance of front desk duties, 8) assistance with the inventory and supply needs of the laboratory and 9) performance as Charge Laboratory Assistant as assigned. A Laboratory Assistant III must be able to perform under pressure and may be required to work any shift (depending on the department’s needs and their training).Qualifications:Education – A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
