DescriptionNear the Santa Rosa, California area, a firm is looking to fill a multi-faceted Tax Preparer role. Apply now through Accountemps. As the Tax Preparer, you will be responsible for the preparation of simple and complex, individual and small business State and Federal tax returns. This role will be on a long-term temporary basis. Aid clients with incoming calls to direct tax questions and set appointments
Interact with clients to gather required information/documents
Confirm appropriate data is entered into Tax software application
Determine and invoice for form preparation fees
Balance other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned
Draw up transaction tax returns utilizing various methods (Paper, E File, EDI Upload) with various government agencies
Requirements
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Solid understanding of trial balance
tax experience preferred
Strong familiarity with tax returns
Strong communication and social skills and able to receive criticism well
Ability to multitask and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds
AA or BS/BA in Accounting or finance preferred
Data entry, document management, file creation and previous records experience required
Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
