JOB OBJECTIVE: Are you an aspiring AP/AR Specialist looking for an opportunity to advance your career? We are looking for an ambitious AP/AR Specialist who we can rely on to manage daily accounting tasks. Our ideal candidate must be able to hit the ground running, work within a team environment and take initiative when needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Track and monitor accounts receivable

Track and monitor accounts payable

Issue and prepare invoices

Perform general ledger entries, account reconciliations and month-end close

Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.

Update financial data in a timely manner

Adhere to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines

Assist other departments such as HR and Marketing with reviewing of expenses

Maintains historical records by filing documents

Support senior accountants

As needed, assist with other accounting projects

Provide regular reporting to top Management

MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS:

3 years of experience as a AP/AR Specialist

Analytical mind, Critical thinker, Self starter, Love for numbers

Excellent understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices

Excellent knowledge of MS Office Programs with an emphasis on MS Excel

Experience with Sage ERP100 software, a plus

Ability to multi-task and work with minimum supervision.

Understanding of the evolving meaning of “controls” in the broadest sense including accounting systems and internal control procedures

Team player and solid communicator (written and verbal skills); strong interpersonal skills including conscientiousness, diplomacy, flexibility, and dependability; maintain confidentiality

Demonstrated history of excellent organizational and time management skills

Must have excellent data entry skills, attention to detail, commitment to confidentiality & thoroughness

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge or experience with SAGE ERP100 or similar software

Equivalent knowledge and work experience obtained from relevant biotech industry experience.

JOB CONDITIONS: Work is carried out in a typical office setting, telecommunication options possible. Work will require sitting and working at a computer for long periods of time.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Minimum AA Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. Bachelor's degree and/or CPA certification preferred.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Salary dependent on experience/education. Company-paid benefits include: medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage, 401K, sick leave, vacation, and company holidays. Possible part time telecommunication options available for this position.
