CDIM Engineering (cdimengineering.com) is growing environmental and engineering consulting firm based in San Francisco. Most finance/accounting/contract functions are handled by our Founder/CEO with the support of technical (engineering) staff. We are seeking a part-time or full-time Controller / Business Manager to perform these operations and provide strategic direction for our business administration functions. Position has high potential for personal, professional, and financial growth. Role can be up to 100% remote.
Job duties and responsibilities include Support CEO in all finance/accounting/contract functions by performing the following tasks:
Bi-weekly payroll
Monthly client invoicing
Employee expense reports
Monthly or bi-weekly accounts payable
Health/dental benefits program amin
SEP & commuter program
General bookkeeping tasks (QuickBooks reconciliation, expense categorization, etc.)
Monthly P&L/Balance Sheet preparation
Tax coordination / filings
Contract compliance and reporting (subcontractors, client contracts, etc.)
Lease negotiations and management
Consulting project budget setup and tracking
Insurance program management / risk review
Cash flow projections
Participate substantively in strategic marketing and business development efforts (if interested)
Lead efforts to overhaul accounting and project finance systems from QuickBooks to A/E platform (Deltek Ajera or Vision)
Skills and qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or master’s in business administration
7+ years of experience of business operations experience
Excellent independent professional judgement and interpersonal skills
Capable of communicating clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, accounting, contracts, and planning.
