Jericho Project, a non-profit, 501(c)(3) working in partnership with educators, counselors, and the criminal justice system throughout the state of California, is offering a career opportunity to a qualified candidate with an exemplary record of producing accurate, organized bookkeeping and accounting documents and records.
We are seeking an experienced, reliable full-charge bookkeeper to be responsible for accounts payable (A/P), accounts receivable (A/R), reconciliations, payroll, workers' compensation, invoicing, preparing reports, and assisting with budgets/forecasts. Strong working knowledge of Quick Books, Microsoft Word, Excel, and ADP a must as well as phone/internet etiquette.
30 – 40 hours/week or as mutually agreed.
Qualified Candidate:
- Must have a successful background (at least 5 years) in all aspects of accounting - including A/R, A/P, payroll, HR, credit card reconciliation, and invoicing - as well as office administration, collections, vendor management, phone, communication, and customer service satisfaction
- Must possess a keen attention to detail while maintaining data, organizing ledgers, and overseeing the storage of accounting records and other items of confidential information
- Must maintain and develop several external vendor relationships (e.g. banks, insurers, CPAs, and government organizations) and constantly seek ways to strengthen and improve overall personal and company performance
- Must offer above-average customer service skills, be detail-oriented, value integrity and accountability and believe in a strong work ethic
Position reports directly to the Executive Director and Program Director and may be responsible for other administrative duties, including but not limited to: scheduling appointments, office management and general assistance when needed
Candidate should be professional; have a confident, can-do attitude; enjoy entrepreneurial and "outside the box" thinking; be self-motivated and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Candidate should be able to work independently as well as take direction and contribute as a member of a team.
