Outdoor Guide / Instructor positions - Available throughout the Bay AreaJOB DESCRIPTIONSKayak and Paddleboard Rental Attendant: Duties include customer service, renting kayaks, paddleboards, and bikes (Del Valle location), moving rental equipment, and giving customers basic instruction and safety talks. Both beach and rental office duties are available.Rental Site Manager: Duties include those of the Rental Attendant in addition to opening and closing the facility, managing employees, processing registrations, and collecting payment.Outdoor Guide / Instructor / Summer Camp Leader: Positions include instructing, leading, and guiding clients in wilderness environments while keeping client care and safety as top priority. Currently we are seeking kayaking, paddleboarding, mountaineering, and rock climbing guides, instructors, and summer camp leaders, but applicants with experience in other disciplines are encouraged to apply.QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for outdoor enthusiasts to join the dedicated Outback Adventures family. Serious and passionate applicants are encouraged to apply.Kayak and Paddleboard Rental Attendant: Personal outdoor or athletic experience in some area is preferred. Previous work experience in the outdoor industry is helpful, but not mandatory. Previous retail or service industry experience is also helpful, but not mandatory. The applicant must be able to lift kayaks, paddleboards, and other heavy objects in an outdoor environment. Those who speak both English and Spanish may have additional opportunities at our Del Valle Regional Park location. Applicants must be reliable, thorough, honest, and professional. Weekend availability is required.Rental Site Manager: We are looking for individuals with similar qualifications to that of the Kayak and Paddleboard Rental Attendant, but with additional responsibilities and work experience. Professional and mature individuals that can lead and manage others in both high paced and low paced environments are encouraged to apply. Duties include managing the entire daily operations and staff, registering rental customers, collecting payment, and enforcing rules and policies. Weekend availability is required.Outdoor Guide / Instructor / Summer Camp Leader: Guide and Instructor applicants must have extensive personal experience in a particular outdoor recreation discipline. Previous experience in the educational or outdoor field is helpful. Wilderness First Responder or Wilderness first aid training is desired and basic first aid training is required. First Aid training may be obtained shortly after being accepted for the job. Applicant must be in good physical condition and able to carry heavy equipment such as a kayak or a fully loaded backpack. For certain kayaking and paddleboarding guide positions we are willing to offer training. Summer Camp Leaders will qualify with less technical knowledge than instructors and guides, but must have leadership abilities. You will receive competitive pay based on your skills and experience. Kayak and Paddleboard Rental Attendant: The starting Kayak and Paddleboard Rental Attendant positions range from $14.00-$16.00/hour depending on experience, responsibilities, and location.

Rental Site Manager: The starting Rental Site Manager position pay range is $17.00-$19.00/hour depending on experience and work location.Guides and Instructors: Guide and Instructor pay is based on the trip or class being lead or taught and the status of the guide so please inquire for details. Guides and Instructors also often receive client tips for exceptional service and additional pay is given for certain certifications.HOW TO APPLY

Outback Adventures is the Bay Area's leading outdoor adventure guide service, rental outfitter, and specialty retailer with three on-water locations. Throughout the summer months at our store, we operate a full service kayak and paddleboard shop and outdoor sports equipment rental center. From Spring to Fall we offer kayak and paddleboard rentals at Del Valle Regional Park in Livermore, and at Buck's Launching near China Camp State Park in Marin County. During the winter months we rent skis, snowboards, and mountaineering equipment with an emphasis on renting and selling Nordic and backcountry skis.
