Are you passionate about creating deeper connections between children and nature? Do you love being outside in nature and have experience working with kids? Vilda is looking for assistant instructors for our homeschool, early childhood, and after school nature programs. We have programs in Fairfax, Ross, and Petaluma. Part or full time work beginning in January and full time work June-Aug, with the option to remain at full time or part time during the school year.

WHAT DO ASSISTANTS DO?
Assistants help support instructors in leading wilderness awareness and nature education in groups of about 10-12 children, helping the children to have fun and be safe, leading games and telling stories, helping supervise outdoor exploration, hiking, and play, and mentoring children in nature connection.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous experience working with children and or significant experience in naturalist knowledge and wilderness skills
A strong interest in working with children outdoors
A strong interest and commitment to expanding naturalist and wilderness skills
Responsible, timely, and with good follow-through
Enjoy working with a team of people
OPTIONAL BUT AWESOME:
Some training in the Jon Young 8 Shields lineage, Tom Brown kids programs or other similar
Currently based in the North Bay with intentions to stay in the area
Current first aid and CPR
COMPENSATION:
Pay: $17-25 per hour depending on experience
