Job Title: Special Education, "Upper Elementary School Mama-Run Cohorts"

Compensation: $30 an hour
Hours: Monday-Thursday, 8:00-3pm, and Friday 8:00-1:15.
Position Overview:
Special Education assistant teacher, school mama, and cohort leader.
You will be in charge of being in charge!
You are going to keep misbehaving kids inline.
You are going to keep teachers on a schedule
You are going to keep things tidy
You are going to provide parents with positive information
You are going to keep curriculum prepped.
You are going to run a group of 6, at all times, doing computers, work books, math facts- easy, easy education, because you are running a tight ship, and everyone is going to listen and respect your word.
You must:
Have extensive experience with children and they respect you, maybe you're mom/grandma, maybe you're an educator, daycare provider, or have just spent a decade being in charge of children.
You must not be afraid to tell other teachers, what needs to be done- we have a group of teachers who need to be kept to a schedule.
You must be intuitive, stop behavior problems, handle classrooms issues, all while still teaching a small rotating cohort of kids.
Be able to help students with classwork, and check in with teachers.
The classwork you will be overseeing, is really simple and mostly computer based. You don't need to be an educator, just be able to take direction and then run with it when it comes to the academics.
Student Profile:
Our students are bright, creative, and each have unique learning needs, which includes protest behaviors. The class includes 6 students with mild autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and oppositional behaviors. A strong aide is one who can form authentic connections, maintain a structured and therapeutic approach, and support each child with positivity and patience, and not get upset with behaviors of children.
Qualifications:
Worked with students for over 10 years, students respect you, you are able to direct other staff.
Babysitting, tutoring, or previously working in a preschool, elementary classroom, or afterschool program.
Ability to actively engage in play, projects, and learning activities
Highly organized, reliable, and collaborative
Takes direction well while showing initiative
Positive, patient, and incredibly energetic
Computer Savvy, is a PLUS!
