We are a small, family-oriented homeschool pod based in the San Francisco Bay Area, embracing the Charlotte Mason philosophy of education. Our pod includes children ages 6-9, and we focus on providing a rich, holistic education in a nurturing environment. Our goal is to foster a love of learning through living books, nature study, art, and hands-on exploration, while honoring the individuality of each child.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Charlotte Mason educator to guide our students in their educational journey. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Charlotte Mason’s methods and a passion for nurturing a love of learning in young children. You will be responsible for leading lessons, developing engaging curriculum materials, and creating an environment that reflects Charlotte Mason’s principles of respect, curiosity, and a sense of wonder.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement lesson plans that align with the Charlotte Mason educational philosophy.

Facilitate group activities, nature studies, and outdoor explorations.

Utilize living books, narration, and habit formation as central components of instruction.

Encourage children’s personal development and independence through Charlotte Mason’s philosophy.

Collaborate with parents to ensure a seamless and consistent learning experience across subjects.

Maintain a peaceful and organized classroom environment that promotes creativity and self-expression.

Qualifications:

Extensive experience with Charlotte Mason methods, either in a homeschooling or classroom setting.

A background in elementary education or early childhood education preferred.

A passion for nature, the arts, and literature, with an ability to inspire children in these areas.

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Flexibility and creativity in adapting curriculum to meet the unique needs of each child.

Familiarity with the Charlotte Mason Ambleside Online curriculum is a plus.

Schedule & Compensation:

Part-time position, with classes held 4 days per week.

Competitive compensation based on experience.

Flexible schedule with room for input into curriculum and planning.
