Position: Assistant Teacher
Hours: Tuesday through Friday; 9:00 - 2:00 pm
Start Date: February 4th, 2025, Felton, California.
We are in need of an assistant teacher to step in mid-year to provide care for an established community of children ages 3-6. The assistant teacher will work closely with the head teacher to ensure a safe, enriching nature preschool program.
Duties include:
Engaging with children throughout the day with kindness and respect. Assisting young children who are learning life skills. Enforcing boundaries during activities. Hearing and validating children’s ideas and opinions. Supporting conflict resolution between children during free play.
Ideal candidates will be present-minded, detail oriented, courteous, kind, energetic, grounded, and first-aid certified. We are looking for someone who loves children and nature, can stay calm during chaos, has solid outdoor skills and an interest in learning and teaching about nature.
College graduates are preferred, but we will consider a college student or experienced instructor who is a particularly good fit.
