Senior Mechanical Designer

Tau Motors of Redwood City seeks a full-time Senior Mechanical Designer ($124,900 p.a.) to design & build hardware systems for use in auto & energy storage applications, develop & optimize designs in 3D CAD software w/associated CAE tools; validate manufacturing, assembly, & service feasibility; create designs interactively w/the multidisciplinary team to incorporate tech & product engineering inputs into the design; complete & release component designs & documentation, including 2D drawings; integrate mechanical designs with high-voltage electric systems in a multidisciplinary environment; develop the design for failure modes & effects analysis (DFMEA) & Design Verification Plan (DVP); & optimize mech designs for size, weight, durability, performance, manufacturability, & cost. MS in Mechanical Engineering & 18 months of experience as a Mechanical Engineer & experience including power electronics & ensuring vehicle fitment & CAE for structural analysis & improvements req.
