Applicants must submit a copy of their lifeguard certification or class of enrollment, and staff availability form 2019 with their application. Swim Instructors must submit a copy of their CPR certification or class enrollment with their application.

SWIM INSTRUCTOR - $13.00 - $17.42/hour

Under general supervision, will assist with swim instruction, perform lifeguard and pool deck supervision, ensure safety of the participants and perform routine office and light pool and locker room maintenance. Must have current First Aid and CPR Certificates and/or be currently enrolled in a class prior to employment with a projected completion date to receive a lifeguard certificate. Should have completed sophomore year of high school and have experience in aquatics such as swim team, formal lessons or demonstrate a good knowledge of competitive and lifesaving strokes.

LIFEGUARD I/II “ I - $13.20 - $17.68 II -$14.53 - $19.47

Under general supervision, will assist in organizing, directing and implementing swim classes and recreational swim programs. Will instruct swim classes, lifeguard, supervise pool deck; do light office and locker room maintenance duties. Must have current First Aid and CPR Certificate, Lifeguard Training Certification (or be currently enrolled in a class prior to employment with a projected completion date to receive a certificate). Should have completed junior year in high school, and have experience in aquatics such as: swim team, life guarding, formal lessons, swim instructor or demonstrate a good knowledge of competitive and lifesaving strokes.

POOL MANAGER - $16.00 - $21.44/hour

Under supervision, plan, coordinate, direct and promote programs and activities in the City Summer Aquatic Program; train, supervise and evaluate part-time employees and volunteers participating in aquatics programs; in the shortage of staff, perform lifeguard and related duties; in the shortage of staff, provide swimming instruction; and perform other duties as required. Must possess current American Red Cross Lifeguard Training (LGT) Certification (preferred); current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification, current Water Safety Instruction (WSI) Certificate; current First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificates, and valid Class C CA drivers license, including a safe driving record.
