We have immediate openings for a Full Time Employment Education Specialist for our Rapid Rehousing program! The Employment/Education Specialist will provide case management and supportive services for the Rapid Rehousing program in order to help clients find and retain employment and/or continue their education goals. This position will work with clients who are seeking career services such as job readiness skills, employment or work experience, career training, mentorship, leadership development, and/or educational programs (i.e. GED, tutoring assistance), as well as interfacing with other schools, employers, and service providers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage an active caseload; maintain participant records; complete a variety of employment and training documents, accurately and in a timely and auditable manner.

Assess client’s skills, aptitudes, and interests using information from school records, test scores, career interest profiles, and other relevant instruments to help them successfully attain program objectives.

Interview and evaluate readiness status of clients for enrollment into education, employment & training programs.

Coordinate outreach and marketing for all programs and work alongside

Monitor progress of clients in program components and facilitate/coordinate access to necessary supportive services, referrals, and community resources.

Maintain and update detailed, accurate client files and program data (printed and electronic) in compliance with programmatic and funding requirements. Enter data in AWARDS and HMIS as required.

Develop and maintain employer relationships; contact employers to develop direct placement and on-the-job training positions.

Make recommendations for improving job development services.

Participate in agency, program, and community meetings as appropriate.

Participate in agency Program Quality Improvement activities and initiatives

Participate in agency Safety initiatives and proactively report safety issues to management immediately

Ensure that site is neat and tidy and report all maintenance or safety issues to manger or Facilities Manager immediately.

Regular attendance is a requirement of the position.

Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Business or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Education and employment needs and assistance experience required. Experience working with culturally diverse population. Current CPR and First Aid Certification required (or complete within 30 days of hire). Valid California driver's license with access to a personal vehicle with current insurance that can be used for company business. Fingerprinting/background check as required by the Department of Justice and/or Title XXII regulations. TB test required.

Depending on experience.
