Looking to start a career with a non profit? Or looking to give back to the community and utilize your admin/data management/social work experience? This position would be a good fit for a student just starting out, it could even be worked into an internship if needed, or someone who is looking for part-time work with a meaningful organization. The Program Assistant reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Principal Objective of Position: To educate, recruit homeowner candidates, provide credit counseling services and support to homeowners-in-process (HIP), Coordinate and support HIP classes, and support the families during the application process and after the ownership. Coordinate the sweat equity hours for the partner families. In partnership with the CEO and Director of Construction, coordinate volunteer opportunities for groups and individuals. This includes recruiting, scheduling, communication with construction team and the volunteers, follow ups, volunteer appreciation efforts, etc.

Homeowner Services

Objective: Select qualified families in time for optimal family choices & to fully participate in the partnership that is designed to promote successful homeownership.

Provide excellent, compassionate service to families interested in applying to the homeownership program

Assist with Homeownership interest meetings

Follow up phone calls on applications that have been sent

Process application, ensures legal compliance

Create an application summary. Ensure the applicant meets criteria of ability to pay & willingness to partner.

Input, track and update applicant information in Salesforce

Prepare the files for the homeowner selection Committee

Coordinate Home Visit with the family to identify housing need, further educate family about CHFH process and long-term commitment, & verify willingness to partner

Assist with financial education classes

Track the sweat equity Hours

Volunteer Coordination

Objective: Ensure recruitment, coordination, and retention of volunteers

Respond to Volunteer requests, questions, or general inquiries via email and phone in a timely fashion

Coordinate registration/application logistics for Volunteers

Use of Volunteer management software including Salesforce, V4S, Forms Assembly plus Microsoft Office 365

Update and track Volunteer information on Outlook calendars used by multiple departments.

Working in partnership across departments, you will help assess availability of Volunteer work and schedule Volunteer groups and individuals

Clearly communicate with all departments the enduring needs of our Volunteers, while encouraging groups and individuals to stay engaged.

Recruit, on-board and coordinate assignments for construction and non-construction Volunteers

Assist with Volunteer appreciation events, home dedications project kickoffs, and special events

Collect information and coordinate beneficial partnerships with Volunteers and track interested individual Volunteers and Volunteer groups from the community

Maintain liability waivers, and safety guidelines handout and ensure each Volunteer has completed /signed those document

Physical Requirements:

Office Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to use a computer both in the office and off-site. The employee may also be required to stand while executing activities on behalf of the organization talk and hear extensively, both in person and using the telephone and occasionally lift and move items up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities are required for this job including both distance and close vision.

Build and ReStore Environment: Physical requirements may be those that are present in an outdoor construction environment, including hard-hat areas and exposure to heat and cold. The ability to walk on slippery or uneven surfaces. Sufficient visual acuity and ability to hear is necessary to assure safe operations and activities on work sites. May be regularly exposed to high decibel noise, such as power tools.

Time Requirements:

This is a part-time, non-exempt, 20-25 hour per week position. It may be necessary to occasionally work extra hours or some evenings and weekends, as determined by supervisor.
