Accounts Admin/Executive Admin Reporting to the Executive Director

Santa Cruz JCC / Temple Beth El seeks a responsible individual with 2-5 years experience in office procedures, bookkeeping and data management. This position is responsible for the accurate processing and reporting of financial information, providing reports to committees and departments, as well as serving as assistant to the Executive Director in an environment that embraces a core belief in the equality of men and women, social justice, life long learning, joy and regard for all who cross our path.

This position requires both attention to detail and good customer service skills - as well as an acute ability to prioritize.

Example of Duties:

Entering payments and accounts receivable.

Making electronic deposits to the bank.

Processing miscellaneous payables.

Confirm petty cash balance monthly

Work with bookkeeper and Vice President of Finance to insure accounting software input is

up to date and accurate.

Prepares reports using accounting and proprietary software on demand

Orders office supplies

Responsible for office equipment functioning, calls for repairs as needed

Maintain maintenance files for business equipment and overall facility

Provide full back-up for TBE Admin for things such as:

o Answering the phone

o Opening and distributing mail

o Entering coded payables

o Processing donations

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

Work collaboratively with all levels of Temple staff, volunteers, committee and Board members;

Knowledge of accounts receivable and payable bookkeeping rules;

Able to interact effectively, and communicate positively with TBE staff, members and volunteers;

Able to identify with Reform Jewish values, standards, ideas and goals;

Able to organize, and complete tasks accurately and within prescribed deadlines;

Able to build and sustain positive interpersonal relationships;

Able to communicate effectively

Proficient in current office and software systems, such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint;

Able to work with a diverse population with respect

EDUCATION:

College Degree

EXPERIENCE:

3 years of experience working in an office environment using office software

2 year experience in accounts payable and receivable
