We are a law firm looking for a smart, confident, and experienced office assistant to help with administrative tasks. This position requires you to work in our Lafayette office. We are a small, tight-knit, and family-like firm looking for an office assistant to join our rapidly expanding team.
This position will involve the following tasks:
Open, scan, and distribute incoming mail;
Prepare letters and other documents for mailing;
Draft and mail checks;
Process incoming checks;
Monitor and order office supplies;
Help with accounts receivable and accounts payable;
Assist with printing documents, getting them signed, and returning them to the recipients;
Assisting with preparing billable hour invoices and sending those invoices; and
Other miscellaneous office tasks as they are needed.
Job requirements:
Verbal and written communication skills
Data entry skills, including the ability to maintain and improve filing systems
Accurate record keeping
Basic math and accounting skills
Time management, multitasking, and able to be flexible
Organizational skills
Accuracy and attention to detail
Maintain, organize and order general office supplies, including paper, pens, ink/toner, etc., to ensure teams have everything they need to succeed
Interpersonal skills, professional and courteous demeanor, excellent office and phone etiquette
Familiarity with standard office platforms, such as Microsoft Office
Proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement
Ability to work well independently and in collaboration with others
