Willow Den Public House, a friendly neighborhood bar (no food), aims to provide a safe and fun customer experience.
We are hiring for one position: "Floor Assistant/Security".
This is a hybrid job at Willow Den. Our "security team" is responsible for everything that occurs on the customer side of the bar. This includes:
1. Checking IDs
2. Enforcing Dress Code
3. Bussing empty glasses, bottles, cans, garbage
4. Scanning the crowd for "hazards".
5. Moving tables and chairs around as needed.
6. Kicking people out who need to be removed.
7. Assisting with closing procedures.
The reason this position is not simply called "security" is because this role does more than only sit around like a doorman at a vegas night club and wait to throw someone out. This role is actively engaged in multiple tasks throughout the shift.
This "engagement" has 2 primary benefits.
1) it provides a critical service to the bar, bussing. Bussing helps maintain a clean bar which improves customer experience. Note: when we have a designated "busser" on duty the bussing responsability falls to the busser. On Fri & Sat nights we have a busser.
2) it allows our security to get up close and personal with customers and evaluate their level of intoxication and attitude. This, in turn, greatly increases our chances of identifying potential hazards and gives us tge option to remove someone BEFORE they become a problem.
Requirements: be able to multi-task and maintain a calm demeanor in the face of drunk, rude people.
