Rubrik, Inc. in Palo Alto, CA seeks Product Designer
Responsibilities: The Product Designer will be responsible for designing user-friendly software with technical, scalable, and user-centric models of design. Collaborate with Product Managers to analyze customer and business requirements, and turn broad, conceptual ideas into simple, useful and valuable solutions within time and cost constraints. Conduct user researches and collect product usage data to dig user needs and translate findings into design requirements. Develop user personas by interpreting research results and data. Translate quantitative and qualitative insights into high quality experiences that drive real results. Translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes that lead to intuitive user experience. Conduct concept and usability testing using interactive prototypes to gather feedback and use user psychology to translate feedback into design features and details. Create high fidelity designs based on knowledge of visual design principles and esthetic concepts. Use user-centered design approach to rapidly iterate designs. Collaborate with Software Engineers and other Designers to assess technical feasibilities and constrains of core and new features and functions. Evaluate the quality of engineering deliverables and provide feedback. Analyze, evaluate, and create information architecture to build reasonable and understandable system structure and user flows. Create data visualizations and infographics to help users easily understand data. Collaborate with other designers to make strategic designs and create design system and consistent patterns to ensure consistency throughout products. Document research findings, requirements, feedback, design solutions and design patterns. Other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Graphic Design, Information Science, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a closely related discipline.
Requirements: Five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related design positions. Other special requirements include: 2 years of experience with user-centered design, visual, graphic, and UX Design; 2 years of experience using Sketch and Adobe Illustrator; 2 years of experience with information architecture, usability testing, and design system; 2 years of experience designing SAAS Products, prototyping, and data visualization; and 2 years of experience conducting user research and collaborating with a multi-functional team.
In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Graphic Design, Information Science, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a closely related discipline and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related design positions, employer will accept candidates with a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Graphic Design, Information Science, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a closely related discipline and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or related design positions.
