Stanford/ex-Facebook education startup looking for support to CEO (palo alto)

California, San francisco bay area 00000 San francisco bay area USA

Vacancy expired!

Us:

Sequoia backed education startup based in downtown Palo Alto looking to fill a support role to our CEO immediately. We're a fast paced, small team, founded by Stanford graduates and former Facebook engineers. And we're changing the way millions of students learn, across 90 different countries. We're scrappy, we possess unlimited amounts of grit and resilience, and we all love what we're doing. We have some quirky bits to our culture that we personally love, and if you're someone who can enjoy a laugh, then you'll also probably come to love them too.

You:

- An overall happy + optimistic soul, can enjoy a good laugh with the team, and give back to the positive environment. We're a very positive team, and we like to encourage one another to give it our best. We expect the same of anyone new who joins the team.

- Awesome support skills (you will be tested for this rigorously in the interview process). We've grown thanks to a team who pays tons of attention to the details, and want to bring on additional folks who have deep empathy for whomever it is you are supporting. You need to believe that your customer is always right, and if we caused them any frustration through a poor user experience well, then that's our fault and we need to address it.

- Always love to learn. You seek feedback. You do not get defensive with feedback. You appreciate the substance behind the feedback and are eager to learn and grow from it. Heck, you find nothing wrong with giving others feedback because it comes from a genuine spot of wanting to see them grow too.

Your role:

You are a leverager. You overlap with our CEO practically all throughout the day, staying up to date on constantly changing priorities, goals, contexts, and data points. You don't just hear about what's been decided, you see it unfold.

You hear the "why" behind each decision, however large or small, such that you can create your own model and run with it. You are given the responsibility of managing our CEO's mindshare on a day to day basis, which lets you see how she makes decisions from the nitty gritty to the highest level. You get the context and the grit to plug in on any project the company needs, and the depth to understand why the company needs it.

What you do has an impact, and you are challenged every day to develop empathy, thoughtfulness, execution, and anticipation. You have the drive to constantly improve, the humbleness to care about the execution of any project (however big or small), and the openness to seek and act on feedback.

Above all, you'd like to make an impact on millions of students' and professors' lives, by directly supporting our CEO.

If this sounds like you, drop us a note. The more thoughtful your note can be on why the above points describe you well, the more likely you are to hear back ASAP because if this is indeed you, we can't wait to have you start!

Bonus points if you can speak to an experience in your life that has shaped you to be who you are today we're looking for folks who have experienced hardship, and grown through it.
