DescriptionWe are currently working with a reputable production/entertainment company located in Sherman Oaks, CA and they are currently seeking a Junior Accountant/ACH Wire Transferrer.This position is a great opportunity to grow within your accounting career while also obtaining new and useful skills that can be applied to multiple industries.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Reviews and approves Journal Entries for cash – These are credit card and bank fees
Review and approves Journal Entries for the company's partnered bank account
Monitor all bank accounts daily: run trial balance, check ending balances
Works with the bank on ACH reversal and recalling wires.
Returned ACHs, Returned wires.
Handles various types of requests from different departments: Copies of AP checks, copies of checks received, follow up with the bank on recall wires and ACHs before AP reissues, searching for receipts, etc.
Provides and monitors use of Square for various departments
Provides ACH and wire confirmation to BUs
Prepares bank reconciliations
Provides information to auditors when requested: bank reports, proof of payment, cancel checks, deposits, goes over our procedures with auditors, etc.
Month-end close
Unclaimed Property: Helps with the review of stale dated checks.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar
2+ years of experience in accounting within large entertainment or similar industry
Exposure to ACH Wire transferring, bank account management or exposure to monitoring bank accounts is a huge plus!
Must be proficient and comfortable using Excel formulas such as pivot tables and vlookups
