Integration and Field TechnicianDescriptionFor nearly 50 years, Datron has been a trusted supplier of high performance, full motion antennas for commercial, scientific, and national security applications. At our 9-acre facility in Simi Valley, California, we have complete design, assembly and test capabilities for our large fixed antennas and satcom-on-the-move product lines. This position reports to the Integration and Test Engineering Manager.
Performs a variety of component and subassembly tests as well as system integration and onsite installation, maintenance and technical support on antenna tracking systems and software at factory and/or field locations.
Analyzes and evaluates product performance and recommends technical solutions and upgrades to equipment per customer requirements.
Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions to eliminate problems in minimal time. Installs upgrades to field equipment.
Provides onsite technical training to customers and support personnel.
Maintains effective customer communications and relations while acting as onsite representative.
Travels extensively to customer locations.

QualificationsAn Associate's degree in electronics or a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or a related technical field is required.Must have at least 2 years of related engineering/testing/field support experience.Must know how to test and integrate systems to the subassembly component level.Must be able to effectively use the following tools: Spectrum and Network Analyzers, O Scope, DVM, Signal Generator, hand tools, heavy shop tools, safety equipment, soldering iron, crimper, measuring equipment, inspection tools, forklift, manlift, company vehicle and pallet jack.Strong communication skills are necessary for dealing with customers.Must be able and willing to travel to remote locations worldwide with little notice. Must work onsite at Simi Valley Facility when travel is not required.Travel is required for up to 50% of a given year.Travel may be a few days at a time or multiple weeks at any given time.Must be able to obtain a security clearance and passport.Must have valid license status in order to drive company vehicles.Must be comfortable working with heights and climbing as required.For timely processing, please submit your application online at:http://www.l3t.com/careers/Job #097202.
