Under general supervision, to lead and supervise Behavioral Health staff and program activities; to provide specialized and intensive behavioral health treatment, counseling, therapy, and services for department clients; to schedule officer-of-the-day duties; to be responsible for an assigned facility, its programs and its security; to serve as a liaison with community, regional, or state agencies; and to do related work as required.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
This is a site supervisor position. Incumbents provide site supervision and leadership at a Behavioral Health Department service site in the county.
Examples of Duties:
Serves as a site supervisor assisting with service and productivity monitoring at a department service site; evaluate performance of subordinates, writes and conducts performance evaluations for assigned staff; makes case assignments; performs or assigns officer-of-the-day duties; provides crisis intervention services on the telephone and with walk-in clients including after hours crisis on call/stand by work; provides staff consultation on complex and difficult cases; provides direct specialized and intensive behavioral health treatment counseling therapy and services to individual clients; performs client evaluations, developing treatment and service plans; serves as a liaison for the County upon request, with regional, and state committees and/or organizations; facilitates staff utilization of community resources; and implements specific site policies and procedures related to service delivery, records maintenance, case documentation, building security, site coverage, computer access, other issues; and other duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications:
Possession of a California license as a Psychologist, Clinical Social Worker, or Marriage and Family Therapist is required.
Any combination of training and experience which would likely provide the other required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be:
Completion of an appropriate graduate degree in psychology, social work, counseling or closely related fields from an accredited college or university; and
Two years of experience at a level equivalent to Behavioral Health Clinician II in Siskiyou County. A year of providing clinical supervision is preferred.
