Operations Manager - Corporate offices of Takken's Shoes/Carr's Boots & Western Wear, Templeton, CA

Seeking an experienced operations manager to work directly with and support the activities of company owner/president by managing the day-to-day operations of the corporate offices for a locally- based, medium- sized retail business. The person in this position will lead the day-to-day operations of our corporate office and administer/supervise daily duties in the areas of accounting, human resources, personnel, banking, general administration, inventory management, budgeting, and customer service. This is a leadership position and requires a strong individual with a diverse set of business skills. The ideal candidate has the following personal characteristics:

Experience managing credit relationships with suppliers, persuasive, assertive, aggressive.

Besides the general qualifications listed above, this individual's day-to-day duties include:

Working directly with and supporting the activities of company president/owner to run the company.

Acting as a person in a position of leadership and directing the activities and providing guidance to all office

team members.

Motivating through team meetings, recognition. Building a positive work environment.

Setting and monitoring company budgets including: payroll, marketing, supplies, credit card spending, etc.

Managing the company's credit relationship with suppliers, including negotiating terms, managing payments,

creating payment plans, etc.

Entering and processing payroll, monitoring overtime, late break penalties, administering payroll policy in

line with legal requirements.

Preparing and submitting monthly sales tax reports to the CDTFA, managing payment plans.

Corresponding and communicating with CPA and other accounting/bookkeeping professionals.

Banking, reviewing financial statements, recommending and implementing strategy.

Fielding a variety of phone calls or emails from suppliers, lenders, landlords, and others.

Technical Skills:

Accounting experience. Able to read and interpret financial statements and financial data to make decisions

and make recommendations. Can communicate effectively and give direction to accounting staff.

Cash Flow. Experience managing business cash flow and anticipating lower cash flow periods and preparing

accordingly.

Accounts Payable. Managing the company's credit relationships with suppliers.

High competence in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word).

Payroll. Experience preparing and administering payroll including reporting and submitting payroll tax.

Banking, credit. Experience discussing credit with bankers/lenders, managing company credi credit cards,

monitoring and addressing the credit profile of the company and company owner by monitoring credit

reporting agencies.
