About the position:
We are seeking an experienced production supervisor for our composites manufacturing team. The production supervisor oversees the planning, scheduling, tasking, training, and mentorship within the shop to develop team members and meet delivery deadlines. This integral position interfaces with the leadership and engineering teams to translate ideas and objectives into deliverables. This position blends technical knowledge with a managerial role—responsible for developing the technical manufacturing processes and for developing individual team members and bringing those individuals together into a high-performing team.
A successful production supervisor will be detail-oriented and goal-driven, ensuring that consistent, high-quality components are built on schedule. Most importantly, the production supervisor is self-motivated and has a team mindset. They must be able to communicate obstacles, set clear expectations across the shop, and support the people, processes, and practices to make the best product possible.
About the job duties:
Day-to-day job duties may include:
Plan, schedule, prioritize, and task the composites fabrication team
Provide leadership, support, guidance, and mentorship to team members
Assist the engineering team with design, plan, and project coordination
Coordinate and assist engineering and production team members in troubleshooting and resolving issues
Review documentation such as travelers, assembly procedures, and test procedures
Use company goals and priorities to create a workplan
Coordinate training
Coordinate procurement of supplies and materials
Communicate challenges and potential solutions with leadership
Evaluate production processes for efficiency
Develop familiarity with all fabrication and final assembly related tasks and processes
Ensure all team members understand and follow all shop safety requirements
Need to have requirements:
Base-qualifications for this job include:
At least 3 years of experience as a production supervisor
At least 5 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment
Excellent communication skills
Experience working from engineering specifications, manuals, drawings, established procedures, verbal and written instructions
Keen attention to detail
Computer (Windows PC) competency in word processing and spreadsheets
Nice to have qualifications:
Additional qualifications that we would like to see in candidates include:
Strong understanding of composites materials and processes
Hands-on experience with composites, resins, adhesives, coatings, measurement tools, CNC operation, math, forklift, maintenance, quality control
Bachelor’s Degree in business management, engineering, or related technical field is preferred, but not required
Familiarity with Personal Protective Equipment
