The San Luis Obispo County Employees Association (SLOCEA) is currently seeking to fill the position of Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper.
OVERVIEW
Under the direction of the General Manager, the Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper position is responsible for a variety of administrative and bookkeeping functions within the Associations business operations.
Example of duties (not all-inclusive):
Record, enter and scan daily check deposits
Process mail by scanning, notifying and filing electronically
Post detailed payments from online store in accounting software on a daily basis
Compile documents required for new hire orientation
Maintain personnel information in electronic files to mirror hard copy files
Make bank deposits and post office runs as directed
Process payroll and/or liaison with a designated payroll service provider
Coordinate and work closely with other administrative staff
General office duties and other projects as assigned
Verify and enter A/P Invoices into accounting records
Invoicing, monthly bank, credit card, and petty cash reconciliations
General accounting functions, including working closely with CPAs
Assist in the preparation of the Associations annual budget
Answer phones, respond to questions, take messages, and route calls
Prepare agendas for Board and Committees and attend meetings where as assigned
Take meeting notes and prepare minutes for Board of Directors and Committees
Perform other duties as assigned
Edit and generate content for the Associations monthly publication
Requirements
Knowledge of QuickBooks is a must.
Ability to work independently and prioritize to meet deadlines required.
Intermediate skill set in Microsoft Excel and Word necessary.
Basic understanding of accounting terms and principles as well as familiarity with general office procedures
required.
Position necessitates employee to keep financial, personnel, and other business records confidential.
Must have attention to detail.
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills are necessary.
Must have reliable transportation and be able to arrive to work on time every day.
Education, Licensure, Certification
Valid California drivers license (required)
High School graduate (required).
AA/AS degree in Accounting or bookkeeping preferred (equivalent in work experience as determined by the
General Manager will be considered).
