Fluid Resource Management (FRM) is a contract operator for water and wastewater systems based in California's Central Coast. FRM is currently seeking candidates for a full-time Compliance Specialist position.

Compliance Specialists are responsible for monitoring and putting into place systems, practices, and safeguards designed to keep the company and its clients in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Compliance Specialists work to ensure that items related to operational compliance are completed on schedule to meet regulatory, permit, and contractual obligations. FRM will train the right candidate who is motivated, has a strong work ethic, and possesses the desired skills listed.

Compliance Specialists are expected to perform tasks including:

-Compiling data and information from staff, clients, vendors, laboratories, regulators, and other sources

-Creating, editing, and producing a wide variety of reports for internal use and submittal to clients and regulators

-Entering data in Excel and various web-based reporting programs used throughout the industry

-Reviewing and interpreting permits for water, wastewater, industrial waste, and stormwater facilities

-Interpreting and tracking data, including laboratory results and graphs of operational processes

-Keeping current on regulations and reporting requirements through continuing education

-Communicating effectively with staff, management, clients, vendors, regulators, and other stakeholders

-Creating forms and suggesting procedures to streamline reporting and compliance tasks

-Maintaining good working relationships with regulators, clients, vendors, staff, and the public

-Developing, populating, maintaining, and utilizing systems to track deadlines for legal, contractual, and permit requirements

-Successful candidates will possess the following skills and abilities:

-Ability to learn quickly

-Ability to prioritize and successfully manage multiple ongoing tasks

-Ability to perform intermediate-level mathematical calculations

-Attention to detail and ability to review and edit work for errors and inconsistencies

-Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe

-Professional, clear, and concise written and verbal communication skills

-Excellent organization, time-management, and self-regulation skills

A background in environmental science, regulatory compliance, or a related field is preferred. QISP certification is preferred but not required.

Starting salary is dependent upon education and experience.
