Michael's Optical is looking for opticians with excellent "people skills". We have locations in Atascadero, Paso Robles, and San Luis Obispo Looking for both part and full-time positions to be filled. A minimum one month training period, length of time will vary by individual, will be done in the Atascadero location. Honesty, integrity and a pleasant attitude are highly valued assets. We have had many long time employees. Will train however preferred applicants will have at least 1 year experience in the field, their ABO certification and vision insurance billing experience.
Typical Job Duties:
Assist patients in selecting frames according to style and color, considering facial and eye measurements and optical prescriptions.
Recommend specific lenses, lens coatings, and frames to suit client needs and application.
Instruct patients in how to wear and care for eyeglasses.
Performing detail measurements such as bridge and eye size, temple length and pupillary distance.
Verify that finished eyewear meets or exceeds ANSI standards.
Heat plastic or metal frames to adjust eyeglasses to fit clients, using pliers and hands.
Maintain computer based and written records of customer prescriptions, work orders, and payments.
Determine current insurance coverage for patients and bill the insurance for services rendered.
