About the position:
Would you love a position where you get to test HaptX's virtual reality content with the world's first industrial-grade haptic gloves? We are seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) tester that has experience testing complex custom software and would like to work closely with HaptX engineers to test customer VR content using HaptX Gloves and the HaptX SDK. As the quality assurance team member, you will be responsible for testing new VR content, tracking product and hardware issues, and managing the overall testing lifecycle. You will become incredibly well-versed in all aspects of the VR system and will partner with engineering to deliver quality VR content across all HaptX projects.
This is a full-time position in San Luis Obispo, CA. Remote work is not available.
Essential duties include:
Define and document test cases for new and existing VR content
Manage test cases and run test suites to support new VR content development
Conduct testing of content to support frequent SDK releases
Conduct human-in-the-loop haptic quality testing with HaptX Gloves
Partner with engineering to manage issue resolution
Reproduce bugs and record in bug tracking software
Debug issues with 3D project content
Create thorough bug reports for engineering team consumption
Record performance test results and provide reports to engineering team for analysis
Work with both customer facing support engineers and SDK development team to deliver quality across all projects
Log and report customer requests to business development and engineering teams
Required skills, traits, and expertise:
Experience conducting software testing across multiple software projects
Passion for VR technology
Experience supporting application development on agile project with frequent releases
Experience owning and executing software test plans and with bug tracking software
Ability to work in team-oriented, fast paced environment
Ability to communicate test results in consistent format
Available to be on-call to respond to customers' needs as level 1 support contact
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to provide excellent customer service
Available to work 40 hours/week in San Luis Obispo, CA

Applicants must be able to pass a criminal background check and provide references upon request
Physical demands:
Ability to wear weighted gloves and a VR headset for multiple hours in a row
Ability to continuously stand or walk
Ability to bend, squat, climb stairs and lift equipment
Candidate has two working hands within the recommended size range of HaptX Gloves Development Kit; candidate must have enough hand sensation to feel output of HaptX Gloves
Desired skills and experience:
Experience in VR content testing
Experience testing application software development kits
Testing experience of software using game engines, specifically Unity or Unreal
