Description

Do you have the ability to interact with technical and non-technical users in an understandable and concise manner while solving complex technical issues? You might be the PC Technician Robert Half Technology is looking for. If you are a self-motivated problem solver who loves to work in a dynamic and positive environment, this may be the role for you. As the PC Technician, you will work in the Sonora, California, region. This role is a long-term temporary-to-full-time opportunity.

Major responsibilities

- Disassemble, box and ship equipment that is out of date

- Manage inventory of equipment, including collaborating on potential purchases

- Install printers, troubleshoot problems and make repairs

- Handle all imaging and preparation tasks for new computers

- Diagnose, repair, rebuild, and refurbish PCs, laptops, monitors, server, and other computer hardware

- Communicate with ticket submitters effectively and on a regular basis

- Ensure sound electronic data records by adhering to company quality standards

- Disassemble, pack, move and set up/install on site

- Provide support for functionality testing and end users

- Coordinate repairs with the appropriate vendors

- Record daily data communication transactions, issues and remedial actions or installation activities

- Handle data transfers from PC to PC and troubleshoot software/hardware along with break/fix

- Manage and execute technology implementation projects

Requirements

- Be able to prioritize workload and perform in a fast-paced and challenging environment

- Show the ability to adapt and learn new techniques and skill sets when required

- 1+ years of experience supporting PC and Mac hardware and software, as well as knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN, and WAN

- Desired skills include an understanding of networking such as switching and routing

- Comprehensive knowledge of Computer Hardware

- Strong familiarity with Hardware Troubleshooting

- Microsoft Windows experience

- Knowledge of Basic Troubleshooting

- A CompTIA A+ certification is a requisite for the position

- Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
