Scientist I/II, Ophthalmologic SpecialistSouth San Francisco, CAYour Role as Scientist I/II:
- Design and apply cell-based assays to support the target discovery, validation, and characterization of novel epigenetic based therapy
- Design and perform in vitro and ex-vivo experiments for cellular disease modeling
- Contribute to the design and optimization of experiments and stay current on literature and technological advances
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on array/high throughput screening and drug development projects
- Contribute to IND and IP filing
- Ph.D. with training in ophthalmology, neuroscience, or related fields.
- 1 – 3 year of industry laboratory experience
- Ph.D. with training in ophthalmology, neuroscience, or related fields.
- 2-4 years of industry laboratory experience
- Ideal candidates will have a deep knowledge of and experience in the genetics of eye diseases
- Prior experience in developing in vitro and in vivo model systems for eye diseases
- Experience in iPCS derived 2D and 3D organoid disease model system
- Familiar with various gene therapy delivery systems
- Strong organizational and documentation skills, effective verbal/written communication skills, and critical problem-solving/analytical skills
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary team
- Familiar with CRISPR mediated epigenetic regulation
- Experience with lab automation for high throughput cell-based screening assay
- Experience with coding (R, Python)
