Duties: We have a temporary position for a talented Scientific Researcher/Senior Scientific Researcher to join our Discovery Oncology Department. The focus of the position is to characterize small molecule inhibitors targeting major oncogenic drivers identified by our project team. To this end, the successful candidate will use a variety of genetic, biochemical, and cell biological techniques for molecule characterization and pursuit of underlying mechanisms of response and resistance. The candidate is expected to independently design, execute, and analyze experiments. Responsibilities include: conducting experiments to elucidate the response to the small molecule inhibitors of interest, generating relevant engineered cell and organoid models, and performing a variety of growth assays upon chemical or genetic perturbation. The candidate will have the opportunity to conduct detailed data analyses and will present these data in relevant forums. Skills: Key laboratory skills include: Strong biochemistry skills, such as western blotting, IP, and qPCR Experience in colony formation and cell viability assays Experience in target depletion using siRNA/shRNA/CRISPR and in generating stable cell lines Experience in organoid culture, genome editing, and live imaging such as incucyte is a plus The candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills, and a pro-active attitude. Attention to detail and enthusiasm for implementing basic science knowledge to inform drug discovery efforts are a must. Education: Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree or BS/MS degree with 5 years experience in one of the following disciplines: Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Cancer Biology, or a related field. Candidate must have experience with mammalian cell biology and cell culture, western blotting, qPCR, siRNA, shRNA, and CRISPR technology.
