The Payroll Administrator opportunity will be located in Stockton, California as a long-term contract / temporary to hire role.ResponsibilitiesDraft reports by organizing all summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages
Enter changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers as part of managing payroll records
Exercise review and verification of source documents
Offer assistance with internal and external audits related to payroll
Manage employee deductions and other liabilities
Answer questions and requests related to payroll information
Facilitate company compliance according to federal and state regulations and guidelines
Establish payroll liabilities after calculating all employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments
Report needed changes after maintaining payroll operations according to established policies and procedures
Proper payroll information maintenance by collecting, calculating, and entering data
Manage payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
Prepare for department heads relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports
Secure confidential payroll operation information and maintain employee confidence
Perform other tasks as necessary Requirements
Prior experience working with high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc.
Meet and uphold Certified Payroll Professional criteria
Knowledgeable about internal controls
Exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills
3+ years of payroll experience
Expertise in federal and state payroll regulations and requirements
General proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel preferred
Proficient knowledge of basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen
Comprehensive knowledge of Full Cycle Payroll
Strong familiarity with in-house payroll
Payroll systems for 100-500 employees experience preferred
Prior experience working with accounting software
Outstanding data entry skills
