About the Role

The Uber Technical Program Management (TPM) team plays a substantial role executing high-impact company-wide initiatives and continuously improving processes to increase the efficiency of our product and engineering organizations!

What the Candidate Will Need

TPMs move fluidly from the big picture to details so that the team can deliver complex and cross-functional projects. You are a bridge and a connector for the company, thrive in a diverse work environment, and are able to balance and prioritize multiple projects with ease. You are intuitive, focused, driven, organized, insightful and productive. You break through communication issues and effectively develop relationships with partners at all levels of the organization. You build trust across the organization. You are not afraid to be direct, but you strive to act with compassion and integrity.

Within the Commerce, Trust & Safety Compliance team, you will partner with internal and external partners to minimize the risk in delivering projects which span across several organizations with regular C-level reporting. You will have an eye out at all times for large scale problem solving opportunities and are able to comfortably converse with engineering leadership who are passionate about tech stacks and trade-offs.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years experience in Technical or Engineering Program Management in a software, hardware or systems development environment.
  • Strong technical, analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations and drive decisions.
  • Track record of taking ownership across multiple programs and driving results in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills and outstanding emotional intelligence. Ability to influence and empower people across a variety of job functions through your relationships!

What the Candidate Will Do
  • Strong organizational skills to drive ambitious priorities simultaneously, without losing sight of the highest priority items.
  • Experience in working with large scale, Enterprise level software systems supporting millions of users.
  • Ability to understand sophisticated concepts and make reasoned decisions objectively.
  • End-to-End experience building Payment systems which support multiple currencies.
  • Computer Science degree, or related field.
  • Developer experience, including writing, testing and deploying code.
