Technician for bulk hardware distribution and returns You will support the Hardware Quality team of a Global Consumer Device company in Cupertino, CA.You will deliver 100 s of hardware systems each month, and getting them from the factory to the engineers who are testing them is a big logistical task.Most of the pipeline is handled by other teams, but getting the units from the local distribution center (in Sunnyvale) and to our offices (Sunnyvale, Cupertino & Santa Clara) and into the hands of the engineers takes some coordination with our secure shipping team. This job involvesreconciling lists of expected units with lists of actual units received with lists of recipientscommunicating with the local distribution center about which units will arrive and be picked up at what time.accepting delivery and confirming the units receivedworking with secure shipping to move the units to our buildingsunpacking the pallets or carts and putting the units on racks for pickup by QA engineers. In addition to receiving, unpacking and distributing the units, this person would also handle returning units after they are done with testing.That process is similar: packing items up into secure carts and coordinating pickup by the secure shipping team.The hardware is tightly controlled and security is paramount. Requirements:OrganizedDetail orientedAble to work independentlyAble to work with boxes up to 80lbs ('work with' means "move on and off pallets", "pack and unpack", "load into carts", etc.)Able to drive a small fleet van for occasional ad-hoc deliveries. (i.e. valid, unrestricted CA driver's license, acceptable driving history, etc)Calm, flexible and able to deal with ambiguityClear communicator.Comfortable working with computers or Macs. (sometimes the units have to be turned on to confirm serial numbers, etc) Duration: 6 Months (Possibility of extension)Location: Sunnyvale (with daily deliveries to Cupertino, Santa Clara and Sunnyvale offices)Hours: typically between 8:30am -5pm. (Standard 40hrs/wk)
