Position: EDA/CAD Systems Administrator Location: Mountain View OR Sunnyvale, CA Duration: 6 Months (CTH) SUMMARY: The Electronic Design Automation (EDA) / Computer Aided Design (CAD) Systems Administrator is responsible for setting-up and maintaining EDA/CAD tool servers and the associated infrastructure, installing and managing Cadence tools and foundry PDKs, maintaining network infrastructure including managing local and remote backup servers and VPN access, and assisting CMOS and Software engineering teams with their tasks. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES: Setup, manage, maintain, and improve EDA/CAD infrastructure. Assist design engineering users in the installation and setup of EDA/CAD tools. Setting up and maintaining application and storage servers for EDA/CAD tools. Work with CMOS/GaN design teams to develop, maintain and support a company-wide CAD tools and infrastructure. Work in close communication and cooperation with Product Design, Process Technology Development and Device Modeling teams support and maintain industry Process Design Kits (PDKs) for CMOS and GaN technologies. Develop, maintain and support script program automation and user environments, used with vendor supplied EDA software systems for RF design entry, simulation, layout, and layout verification. Analog, RF, and mixed signal design software systems include Cadence, Mentor Graphics, Momentum, and others. Being in close contact with foundry as well as tool providers for any technology evaluation setup or tool and project design kit updates Provide general direct user support and system administration assistance to users, within a mixed Windows and LINUX computing environment, including assistance with the installation and setup of EDA software tools, and subsequent requests for help. Assist with the installation, maintenance, and support of various EDA software system licensing, for LINUX and Windows user access SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES (flexible): Work with CMOS/GaN design team to perform design and simulation of mixed-signal circuits, perform layout and physical verification tasks (DRC/LVS/PEX), and assist with design reviews and design validation. Work with Software design team to maintain and support digital design verification, synthesis, power simulation, formal verification, etc. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) / Computer Science (BSCS) / Computer Engineering (BSCE) and 5+ years of work experience in the field of EDA-CAD solutions for leading edge CMOS digital and / or RF solutions. OR BSEE or BSCE/BSCS and 5+ years' experience (or equivalent) working with Electronic Design Automation (EDA) for RF/microwave IC and module product design. 3+ years of shell scripting experience. PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Proficiency with LINUX and Windows computer systems and networks for EDA-CAD and general applications Proficiency with Windows and LINUX computer systems and system administration Proficiency in writing LINUX shell scripts and general programming (e.g., PERL, SHELL, TCL and Python). Broad knowledge of foundry design kits and skillcode expertise Familiarity with analog and RF EDA software such as Mentor, Keysight-ADS, AWR-MWO, Ansys-HFSS (developing and maintaining custom user infrastructure). Familiarity with synthesis, simulation, verification, and regression tools. Familiarity with tools from Cadence and Synopsys or Mentor Graphics. Proficiency with major electronic design automation (EDA) software platforms (e.g. Cadence, Mentor Graphics, Keysight, AWR). Proficiency with DRC, LVS and ERC rule decks for M.G. Calibre or Cadence PVS. Proficiency writing SKILL, Ample and AEL script programs. Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
