Position: Legal Technical Writer

Location: Austin, TX & Sunnyvale, CA

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with teams to create an in-depth understanding of the Matter Management System and document requirements
  • Research, outline, write, and edit new and existing content, working closely with various departments to understand project requirements
  • Create use cases, user stories, Business Requirement D (BRD), and sequence diagrams for the project.
  • Create Functional Requirement Documents and Requirement traceability matrix.
  • Create data migration documents with data mapping and documenting transformation rules.
  • Produce documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience
  • Work with development and support leads to identify all documentation repositories, revise and edit, and determine the best solution for data compilation and centralized storage
  • Write easy-to-understand user interface text, online help, and developer guides
  • Create tutorials to help end-users use a variety of applications
  • Document and Review system-related changes
  • Leverage Agile Development best practices in project activities

Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or any related field
  • 7+ Years of relevant work experience supporting complex projects
  • 2+ years of Litify experience
  • Prior experience as a technical writer for software systems developing artifacts such as user guides and training material
  • Experience communicating ideas and viewpoints to senior management
  • Experience acting as a liaison between business and IT groups
  • The ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective written and verbal communication and leadership skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies
