About the Team

The magical moment of the first Uber ride is when the rider gets out of the car and never has to reach for their wallet. Digital payment is truly core to the Uber experience. Unfortunately, riders that pay with physical cash do not experience the same delight on Uber.

The mission of the Uber Cash team is to help digitize people's cash and provide seamless and rewarding payment experiences. The Uber Cash team is responsible for Uber Cash, Gift Cards, and the new Uber Money initiative.

About the Role:

As a mobile engineer in Financial Products, you will be working directly on building out the future for the various Financial Products, including Uber Cash, Gift Cards, and Uber Visa Card. You will innovate on new payment experiences in the various product lines on the Uber Platform, including Rides, Eats, Transit, and Grocery.

What the Candidate Will Do:
  • Closely collaborate with product, design and business teams to understand product ideas and business needs and help deliver these as a series of fast experiments.
  • Implement native user interfaces with the latest Android technologies.
  • Drive adoption of best practices in code health, testing, and maintainability.
  • Play an active role in team's technical design choices, code reviews and documentation.
  • Coach and mentor junior or new engineers joining the Financial Products team.

Basic Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of full time Android experience
  • Proven expertise in Android ecosystem
  • Ability to execute efficiently in a dynamic environment

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working on Financial Products
  • Experience working on consumer facing products
