2-7 years' of software development experience. Java & Scala experience are required. Depending on experience, pay range is $55-65/hr.This position will involve Microservices written in Java, new services written in Scala, and creating API's from the ground-up Non-local candidates will be considered as everyone works remotely now, but candidates local to Sunnyvale, CA are preferred.This is a W2 Hourly Contract that will last through the end of 2021, extensions into 2022 are likely with possibility of conversion to FTE.Job Description:You will be responsible for developing back end software and services for Client's Midtier Service platform. Your responsibilities will include rapid development of prototypes/concepts along with regular development. You are experienced with agile development and a champion of software development best practices.Required Skills:- Must be self-motivated, and ability to work independently, Fast learner, Pays attention to detail.
- Ability to think like an architect, produce high quality code. Understanding of Service Oriented Architectures.
- Use TDD and ATDD, using Cucumber-Jvm, ScalaTest.
- Must be able to build REST services from the ground up.
- Technologies: Scala 2.11, Http4s, Play2, Akka, Kafka, ELK, Scalaz, Hadoop, Apache Spark, Amazon Web Service (Lambda, S3, Kinesis, SQS).
- Strong in OOP & Functional paradigm
- Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences, engineering, management information systems or combination of education and equivalent working experience.
- Some experience in Scala(Must).
- Strong software design skills and knowledge of design patterns
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and associated tools (Jira)
