IT Systems Administrator- Bay Area/Remote Client is an agile team of science, technology, and logistics experts, mobilizing in the public interest to make fast, safe, regular coronavirus testing accessible to all. Our RenegadeXP™ COVID-19 testing methodology gives organizations responsible for public health the ability to rapidly scale up capacity for widespread ongoing testing. In collaboration with other CLIA-certified labs, researchers, and organizations across the ecosystem of public health, we are working day and night with a singular goal: to make COVID-19 testing accessible to every person on the planet, regardless of income. POSITION SUMMARY Client is seeking to hire a skilled IT Systems Administrator that supports the company's Information Systems policies to assure the development and implementation of data processing, computer operations and related functions (communications, office systems, production activities, etc.) This role participates in coordinating the strategic plan with the development of information systems, provides on-going analysis and planning of information systems and makes decisions for changes, upgrades, and new projects to facilitate meeting the dynamic business needs. While this position is largely remote the ability to visit the Oakland site will be required on an occasional basis. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Responds promptly to internal support requests from ticketing system, email, chat and phone and follows through to completion
  • Ability to quickly discern and respond to Tier 1 and Tier 2 network support issues.
  • Timely completion and documentation of corporate Help Desk
  • Assists Customer Service with external support when required
  • Quickly learns proprietary systems for troubleshooting and resolution, cross-trains to backup others in the IT Dept.
  • Prepare and maintain corporate documentation, including procedures and system configurations.
  • Interacts with partners, internal clients and consultants as needed.
  • Utilizes remote management system to maintain stability and upgrades
  • Monitors cloud systems
  • Trains staff, provides recommendations for increased efficiency
  • Runs reports pursuant to departmental schedules and ad hoc requests
  • Maintains a high level of ePHI security as required by HIPAA
  • Support of physical, network, transport layers of the OSI Model
  • Visits Oakland site occasionally when required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; or equivalent education/experience in the computer science field
  • Working Knowledge of Linux, Windows and MacIntosh Systems
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform, HIPAA, medical systems, scripting and software development is a plus
  • Extensive experience in local and wide area networks
  • Extensive experience with personal computers and software applications
  • Good oral and written communication skills
