Previous automotive industry experience is not required, although an auto industry enthusiast or a consumer enthusiast that understands consumer behavior will be the most qualified for this opportunity. We want you to bring your passion for the U.S. market, macro trends, ability to complete data analysis, lead research projects and complete intelligence gathering to incorporate innovative change for the future of the automotive industry within our company.

Responsibilities:
  • Look at macro trends; quantify out-of-box questions based on the U.S. market and U.S. auto industry from limited data and forecast to the best of your ability.
  • Roll up your sleeves and collaborate with numerous team members, several departments and Executive’s alike completing numerous tasks such as presentations, pull data, analyze data, figure out what components are needed for a quantitative formula to create a result, write a detailed story based on data and more.
  • Complete research by supporting and leading research projects including desk research, focus groups, clinics, on-line quantitative surveys, etc.
  • Intelligence gathering by maintaining a thorough understanding of the automotive market, consumers, consumer preferences and company strategy.
  • Report findings on a regular basis.
  • Collaborate among various department/divisions across automotive company both in US and Japan.
  • Complete data analysis by identifying, analyzing, developing predictive models, and interpreting trends or patterns using data sets of varying size and complexity.

Required Skillset:
  • 1-3+ years of experience within several areas such as marketing, public relations, consumer behavior, macro trends, data analysis, social media data analytics and/ or building Excel models based on several layers of data (internship experience is proficient).
  • Flexibility to work in a startup-like environment within an established company, wearing multiple hats.
  • Ability to tell a story with data and have a broad, out-of-the-box mindset.
  • Curiosity and passion for consumer research and/ or the future of the automotive industry.
  • Ability to translate data of varying complexity into compelling stories/reports (PowerPoint) and present findings to engineers, designers, analysts, and executives.
  • Expertise in qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
  • Flexibility in handling multiple projects with variable/shifting deadlines.
