Responsibilities: • Works independently and with diverse research and design/development teams in performing assigned research/development activities relevant to departmental and organizational needs including research of new technologies and related market trends in area of specialty.• Research data results summary/reporting and prototype parts design/specification development. Plans and executes usability experiments and studies in a variety of user environments.• Test creation/execution, test results summary/reporting, patent research/development, and operations support for assigned projects.• Work assignments are performed within defined latitude for independent judgment, problem solving and decision making as well as defined parameters for accuracy, quality, efficiency and compliance with time schedules and applicable policies, procedures and regulations.• Coordinates supplier testing, including interfacing with suppliers to confirm testing quality and verify specifications are achieved,• Reviewing test results and resolving issues, ensuring required documents such as confidentiality agreements and Statements of Work are created/maintained, and providing expertise in area of specialty as needed.• Uses proven human factors methodologies and tools; recommends changes to improve the overall usability of the design or process; produces products and services that minimize complexity of use.• Performs statistical analysis of behavioral and subjective user data.Area of Specialty: Human Machine Interface (HMI) and related technologiesRequirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Human Factors, Engineering Psychology or related area of study• 1-4 years of related work experience in Auto, Mobile or application development• Knowledge of fundamental engineering concepts and terminology, the units of measurement and their interrelationship common to all branches of engineering• Knowledge of fundamental Human Factors concepts and terminology• Competent investigative, analytical and prioritization skills• Ability to learn new skills and adapt quickly• Experience with planning usability testing• Excellent at multitasking• Ability to think outside of the box• Strong overall software knowledgePreferred : • Experience with prototyping is a plus• Experience with a simulator is a plus• Experience with Photoshop is a plusSubmit resume to Type: Contract, 12 + monthsLocation: Torrance, CA
