Position Overview:A full-service acute care facility serving the residents of Tracy for over 60 years, Sutter Tracy Community Hospital (STCH) has a total of 82 inpatient beds. STCH provides a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services including: a 24-hour emergency department, inpatient and ambulatory surgical services, endoscopy lab, intensive care, diagnostic imaging, laboratory and rehabilitation services including physical, speech and occupational therapy. STCH also has specialized care for Hemodialysis, Family Birthing Center, Continence Center and a Pain Management Center. STCH is a not-for-profit, community-based hospital, affiliated with Sutter Health since 1993.The registered nurse provides individualized nursing care based on knowledge of basic competencies in the fundamentals of nursing and pharmacology using the nursing process applied to geriatric, adult, and adolescent patients from admission through discharge. This position requires knowledge of standards of care, nursing assessment parameters, and pharmacology, including doses, purpose, interactions, side effects, and reactions to medications.Qualifications:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of California upon hire .

Must possess a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire .

Must possess a current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification upon hire .

Must possess a current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (see department specific requirements) .

Other (Must also meet department specific requirements for License and Certification - see department specific requirements) .

Demonstrates in depth knowledge of nursing process in addressing physical, psychosocial, and psychological needs of patients.

Ability to demonstrate basic knowledge of unit specific age criteria for patient population.

Must demonstrate critical thinking skills.

Timely completion of unit specific orientation and competencies.

Ability to read, write, hear and verbally communicate in English to the degree required to perform the job.

Must be able to travel in accordance with any requirements of your job.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN).

One (1) year of RN experience.

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS- EMERGENCY

One (1) year of RN experience preferred.

Proficiency with: Continuously bedside monitoring and Telemetry, vasoactive medications, hemodynamic monitoring and pressure lines, patients receiving mechanical ventilation.

- Med-Surg / Telemetry

One (1) year of RN experience preferred.

Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within 180 days of hire .

Current Electrocardiogram Certification (EKG) required within 180 days of hire.

Completion of a Pediatric Assessment course within one (1) year of hire.

Maintain six (6) CEU's in pediatrics on a biannual basis.

- Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

One (1) year of RN experience preferred.

Sixty-four (64) education hours in critical care theory including the following: Cardiac, ECG monitoring and arrhythmia interpretation, Hemodynamics, Respiratory and Ventilation, Vasoactive medications, Endocrine, and Renal (similar to the AACN [American Association of Critical Care Nurses] preferred .

Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within ninety (90) days of hire .

Proficiency with: continuous bedside monitoring and telemetry, vasoactive medications, hemodynamic monitoring and pressure lines, patients receiving mechanical ventilation. Ability to assist with bedside procedures such as emergency resuscitation, chest tube insertion, central line insertion, tracheotomy, and intubation.

Proficiency with: PA pressure lines, Arterial lines and monitoring. Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps, Intracranial Pressure Monitoring and Ventriculostomies.

Ability to assist with bedside procedures such as emergency resuscitation, chest tube insertion, central line and Swan Ganz insertion, tracheostomy, intubation.

- OB (Labor & Delivery)

Minimum of six (6) months prior Obstetrics experience within the past two (2) years preferred .

One (1) year of RN experience preferred.

Current Basic Fetal Monitoring training required upon hire.

Current Intermediate Fetal Monitoring education - required within six (6) months of hire.

Current Advanced Fetal Monitoring education - within one (1) year of hire .

Current Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) or obtained within thirty (30) days of hire required.

Current S.T.A.B.L.E. or within one (1) year of hire.

Current Electrocardiogram Certification (EKG) required within sixty (60) days of hire.

- Ambulatory Care Unit - GI/Endoscopy/Same Day Surgery/PACU/Operating Room/Infusion Services, etc.

Ambulatory surgery center experience preferred .

One (1) year of RN experience preferred.

GI/Endo : One (1) year of recent ambulatory surgery/endoscopy experience preferred .

GI/Endo: After hour / weekend call requirements for endoscopy.

Preoperative and postoperative care of surgical patients preferred .

Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within 180 days of hire.

Current Electrocardiogram Certification (EKG) required or obtained within 180 days of hire.

Infusion Services RNs : ONS certification is required within six (6) months of hire. Current RNs will have three (3) months to obtain .

Conscious sedation skills preferred.
