Mechanic Trainee

Job Description

• Entry level maintenance position that will help ensure production equipment is operating in a safe, reliable and optimal manner. Provide general maintenance support and performance basic production maintenance tasks while developing maintenance mechanic skills and experience.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and perform basic preventive maintenance as directed by the Supervisor. This includes, (but is not limited to): grinding, cutting, torching, replacing bearings, belts, chains, caulking, floor work, roof work, cleaning, lubricating, painting, basic welding, basic plumbing, carpentry work, prepare material list etc.
• Successfully complete training as required by the company and or government regulations including but not limited to hot work permit, confined space, PPE, scissor lift, fork lift and fire extinguisher training

Qualifications

• Must be able and willing to learn any equipment or task and process to higher maintenance levels
• Must be able to maintain a good working relationship and communication with all level of employees and management
• Other duties as assigned
• Must be able to read, write and effectively communicate in English, perform basic math functions and comprehend equipment manuals and instructions.
• Must be able and willing to learn any equipment or task and process to higher maintenance levels
• Must be able to lift fifty (50) lbs.
• Must be able to push, pull, bend and crouch
• Must be able to work in confined spaces
• Must be able to safely work on ladders and in confined spaces
• Must be able to work on wet concrete floors, walk and stand for prolonged periods of time
• Must be able to work safely in all aspects of employment
• Must possess required set of hand tools
• Must be able to pass written Mechanic Trainee test
• Must be able to work overtime, weekends or times indicated by production needs
• Must be able to submit and pass a criminal background check
